RETARDED F1 >>>

10:36 PM

I Can't believe that I'm the most retarded person on this earth. I WASTED 2 BLOODY HOURS WATCHING SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX. And guess what THERE WERE NO FATALITIES!!!

What the hell lah... waste my time... the closest it got to a crash was that brazilian renault guy Nelsinho Piquet... who decided to crash his car. Why didn't the car roll over? Why didnt it get smashed up? Why didnt it burst into flames?!?! And, when he was trying to cross the road WHY DIDN'T HE GET KNOCKED DOWN!?!?!

In terms of injuries, the closest was Massa's pit stop where the fuel hose got stuck... Why didnt it catch fire and why didnt the car explode? WHY? WHY? WHY?

In short, I wasted 2 hours of my life watching F1 waiting for casualties or fatalities. But there were none. Sigh... I will never watch F1 again.

Pachelbel - Canon in D >>>

8:31 PM

I dropped music about P5 due to studies. My father insisted that I had spent too much time on the piano. Hence he wanted me to quit. I was at Cristofori Music School then. When I quit, I was grade 4 practical and about to take grade 1 theory. I was hoping to skip grade 2 and proceed to 3 after thus, for theory.

So... Now, 5 years down the road, I wouldn't even be able to pass a grade 1 exams (theory or practical) Recently Mr jr decided to pick up piano. The rekindled the piano spirit within me. The tired of arrangements me would now try to pick up popular pieces, like Canon in D (ouch) (e). A very nice song that I'm still figuring out how to play. The following is a score provided by yh.

How I wish I could continue music again. Let me wait till after exams! :)

Condolences... Farewell, Grandma >>>
Thursday, September 15, 2016
10:42 PM

My maternal grandmother (mother's mother) passed away this morning. I got a call from my dad at 1500hrs plus. I rejected the call expecting the worst. Alas! BINGO! I hit the jackpot. The funeral arrangements were in place at the neighbouring HDB void deck of my grandmother's block as there was already a funeral in her void deck.

Being a christian, I do not condone the Buddhist style of rites. Nonetheless, I followed the rites as a mark of respect. Well, my grandmother was taoist rather than buddhist. I had to hold one joss stick there like a statue while the monk was uttering some gibberish chants. Not that I understood anyway. I blew at the joss sticks till my joss stick was 1/2 the size of my parents' XD. In the end, when I gave my joss stick to the funeral 'manager', he gave me the (-_-") look as he planted the joss stick in the ash pool, taking large amounts of effort trying to push my parents joss sticks lower, and not implant mine so low, such that they looked about the same height. Not that he was successful anyway. I don't intend to breed discord, but Buddhism is not my cup of tea.

Throughout the whole time, everyone else wept at least once. All my relatives who were there. Even my sis cried. For some reason, I felt a slight tinge of sadness but I felt no urge to cry at all. It was the similar feeling of despair when I got back my C6 HCL paper last prelim anyway. Call me heartless. Maybe something is wrong with me. I was actually quite close to my grandmother, as she took care of me since young. My parents used to leave me there when they worked. It's just strange that I didnt really feel that sad. Maybe something is wrong with me.

My grandmother was battered down by the 4th stage of lung cancer, which spread to many other parts of the body. In the final days of her life, she was at Tan Tock Seng hospital battling pneumonia. Her lung capacity was like 20% and she was breathing in 100% oxygen (though its harmful) Well she was given morphine before she eventually passed away.

I would like to thank the people who have been praying for her. Thanks millions!

Church =D >>>

Wow, I really felt lucky that I went to church today. Hours before church, I was still contemplating whether I should go. In the end, I decided to go. XD My decision proved right. I was really inspired by the sermon by Pastor Daniel, and subsequently, cell. Faith was sick (get well soon =D) so our cell was once again "faithless". All other cell leaders weren't there for 1 reason or another. Joel was sick too (get well soon =D) .

When I reached L4, there were quite a number of ushers giving out stuff. One of which that I felt was important was this sheet of paper, slightly bigger than 1/4 of an A4 paper. It was something like a guide to "A Student's Prayers to God". A very timely sheet of paper, I must say. I hope this has been help to the sec 4s taking their 'O' levels. What I'm going to share with you guys is copyrighted to LSBC Youth Ablaze. Hope they don't mind it being reproduced here XD. The following verses are quoted specially for various resons. Go read them if you need them. I will just put the chapter and verse. Go look them up at: http://www.biblegateway.com/

Encouragement: Psalms 138:3, 46:1
Wisdom: James 1:5
Strength: Isaiah 40:31
Praise the Lord: Hebrews 13:15
Stress: Philippians 4:6-7
Worry: Luke 12:25-26
Fear: Joshua 1:9
Diligence: Colossians 3:23
Peace: John 14:27
Victory: 1 Corithians 15:57

And finally a little prayer (edited):
Dear God, I thank You for your unconditional love, Your support and encouragement. During this time of revision and getting ready for exams, I pray that You will bless me with Your confidence, give me strength to run this race. Strengthen me so that I can be in the best of health throughout this time of testing. I pray that You will remove my distractions, worries, stress, fears, and help me not to be tempted by things of the world. Help me be a conqueror. I pray for wisdom in managing my time and wisdom to study well. I know that whenever I'm feeling down or feeling alone, You'll pick me up and carry me through all my adversities. I pray for the joy of studying and that You'll refresh me and recharge me. I pray that during this busy and stressful period, I will not forget you but I'll continue to stay close in my walk with you and help me be a Jesus First christian. With this, I submit my prayers to you. In Jesus' most precious name, I pray, Amen!

Driving >>>

3/9:

It was fun going through Lornie road... Not in the morning that is (with the funnel - Lornie via duct or something) It was like at midnight. One must be quite privileged to be driving a class 5 vehicle, flanked by 3 other company vans, private cars owned by the employees PLUS a Certis Cisco auxillary police vehicle.

Kudos to the heavy vehicle truck drivers. You may be driving 12 wheel cranes, busses or trailer trucks. It doesnt matter. You posses the skill that I don't have (not now at least)

I feel that one of the greatest challenges of driving a manual vehicle is the precision of the gearshift. That's what driving manual is all about, isnt it? Well, some people find that having a relatively 'higher' clutch is easier as it allow for more control. Well, I guess its arbitary, according to the vehicle that you drive. But to me, I find that its a bane rather than a boon. Not when its stiff (no innuendo intended) that is. Experienced drivers will call me a laughing stock when you hear that somebody takes 5 to 8 seconds to successfully gear up or down (or into neutral). Bear in mind that its a class 5 vehicle I'm referring to.

There aren't many ups and downs throughout Lornie road/Stevens road. However, just imagine the 5 - 8 seconds to shift a gear... There was an incident where a vehicle had just cut into the lane. Some driver in a hurry I guess. This resulted in a immediate drop in speed, lest ramming a 20 tonne vehicle into it. Trouble is, when you are at 4th gear, u will probably need to gear down to 3. BUT by the time the 8 seconds of gearshift is up, the revs would be just above idling. The puny little torque generated by this gear ratio at this amount of revolution would mean a mandatory death in the engine. No wraiths required. This would mean that the gear would have to be lowered again, right? This time to 2. Again after the approximate 5 seconds, the velocity of the vehicle would beg for another gear down. Do note that the amount of engine braking increases as the gear gets lower. Well, bingo! Gear down to 1st gear. (5 to 15 km/h) That on Lornie road. How ridiculous can that be!?

Gearshifts aside, Power stearing, contrary to its name has no power at all. Imagine yourself trying to rotate a 1000 cm^3 block of iridium. That is the art of steering a retarded heavy vehicle. That's why its called a HEAVY vehicle anyway... Caution has to be exercised when navigating pedestrian crossings. Now I realised why bus drivers usually maneuver their vehicle so close to the concave side of the crossing. I guess things have to be learnt the hard way. When you have the rear wheel mounting the kerb, that is.

I guess driving a heavy vehicle takes out as much of u as does a gym work out. Exhaustion is what many heavy vehicle drivers feel after a hard day's work. I find that apart from the steering, braking(a little) and gearshift, the rest of a heavy vehicle are very much like that of a passenger car. For example the indicators, windshield wipers, headlights (no connotation intended) High beam lights, hazard lights etc are exactly the same as a car. That was a long day.

I believe that practice makes perfect. From now till I blog again. Adios!
